My friend and aunt, who are regulars at Saltimbocca, both recommended I eat there. I'm glad I took their advice. The Snapper Franchaise was the best I've ever had!! Generous portion size and gourmet quality! My wife and two friends also loved their dishes as well! Saltimbocca isn't trendy, not much in the way ambiance compared to others in Delray. But the food was really delicious. I've dined at many places in Delray and this was one of the best. Looking forward to going back in the spring when I'm back in Delray! I was also told the early bird is a fantastic value.

Good Italian food can be hard to find in South Florida. Went here for dinner with my mom and really enjoyed the chicken francese, and the bread was very good also. I ordered the sugar-free chocolate mousse cake for dessert. I wasn't sure it would be any good because it was sugar-free, but it was great. Would return!

We had my grandpa's 95th birthday here and had an excellent experience. The food was delicious. We tried many different items and have nothing bad to say about any of them. We started with the clams, stuffed mushrooms and shrimp cocktail. We then had pasta fagioli and salad. The potato crusted fish was amazing and the eggplant parm was very good as well. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. I would definitely recommend hosting your next party here!

I bought a Local Dines certificate to try this place out. The whole experience was disappointing. Let's start with the bread. It looks like the bread is something they buy in bulk and then cut open and throw garlic and powder on. For the price you would think they would make fresh rolls or something. When my dish came out it was wrong. The waitress took it back to get me a new one. I think when the made my eggplant they rushed it to me quickly. It was so soggy and gross. Usually eggplant cutlets are fried before they put the dish together. I have no idea what this was. It was not very edible and I kind of pushed it around and a little of the top layer. The waitress did not come back this time but instead what I guess was a busboy came over. He asked if I wanted a box and I said no. I am pretty certain the dish was not cooked properly because it was rushed. We decided to order dessert because the dessert menu looked good. I tried to make the best of the situation. We picked a flourless chocolate cake. This was inedible as well. It tasted like a solid hard piece of sugar and bitter sweet chocolate. It did not eve resemble cake and I have eaten flourless cake before. We took a couple bites and could not go on because it was so sugary and gross. When the waitress returned she did not even ask what we thought of it or comment that it was hardly eaten. I thought the food was just plain bad and extremely overpriced.

I had never been here and came to pickup a takeout order. My parents have been here before with friends of theirs and liked it, so we ordered a Sunday dinner takeout. For the area, I think the idea was to find something better than Ninos. I arrived two minutes before the food was due. It was busy but not packed. About everyone was seated and there were several open tables, at least around the visible bar area. The host I first encountered had no idea that any takeout orders had been made, which immediately was disquieting to me. I guess after a few seconds he realized he doesn't do that. He then sent me to the bar. Interestingly, they have takeout menus at the greeting desk, but they are on reverse display. That is, visible to the host and backwards to potential customers. I found (and find) that odd... Wouldn't you want to display take out menus prominently? I should have known then that takeout wasn't a priority. I was greeted at the bar. The bartender quickly asked someone, but the food was not ready. Ok, fine so far. I put out a credit card, received a bill, and paid. The bill was approximately $70 for 2 veal parms and a Chicken Marsala. A little high for the area, but if it's good, fine. I signed and paid. I waited about 5-10 minutes. I saw food come out in parts, forming somewhat of a pile, and watched it sit there nearly another 7-10 minutes. The bartender continued to make drinks, some quite literally around takeout orders sitting on the bar, in an area where waiters pick up bar orders. I figured someone else had ordered and wasn't there yet to pick up their food. (Note, this should have been ready 2 minutes after I got there, not 15-20 minutes later). Nope... this was my food sitting, which I had already paid for. It sat on the bar counter nearly 7 or 8 minutes as some 4 drinks different were made. I guess in house customers ordering drinks are more important than my $70 takeout order. I did complain when I left. No one really had a reply. Needless to say, it was barely warm when I got home. It was maybe less oily than Ninos, but, it was lukewarm. I thought it was better (potentially) albeit not nearly as warm as it should be. All of us asked for angel hair pasta, none of us received angel hair pasta. Oh, soup that no one ordered was included, but no one wanted it. I don't think my parents will be taking food out from them again.

Some of the most authentic Italian pasta dishes in Delray beach! Even though it's full of all the older crowd, they usually are gone by 6pm :) The Penne a la vodka with chicken is my favorite! The service is ok, not the greatest, that's why they get 4 stars.

Went to the opening night of the dinner show. if they want to get more people there, they need to up the entertainment. Piano player = no voice, comedian had no sense of timing and rambled on. Elvis impersonator needs to watch the video they took to see how he can improve his act.

Just a mediocre Italian restaurant. The bar area is nice & they have nice booths, which a lot of local elderly folks like.

I wouldn't even give a star If were up to me. What a dump. Walked in and sat around. No one acknowledged my wife and I. Manager comes up and looks like he's in a rush and said I can't be helped do to having a tank top on. I ordered to go a chicken parm and couldnt chew the runner brick with sour sauce. Disgrace.

Whenever I come to Delray Beach, I make sure that we eat at Saltimbocca. The food is consistently good. The portions are large and the staff is very friendly. The pork chop is huge and delicious. The caesar salad is delicious and the shrimp scampi was great.

I would give this place 5 only for the food. A few weeks ago hubby and I came to have dinner because We love the food here. Our server was fairly new, but that did not stop him from doing a great job and being friendly and attentive. We finished our dinner and showed our server a $20 for $40 deal on my phone. We were shy just .78 cents of $40 for our bill, and our server said he was new and will ck with the manager to see how to apply the deal toward our bill. Debbie, the manager came to the table and said in a very loud raspy voice, "I'm sorry but you need to order 2 Entrees with your meal" and before I had a chance to say anything she rudely stated "well you can expect to eat here for free!" I tried to explain to her I that I paid $20 for $40 worth of food and it did not state anything about ordering 2 entrees. She then added "well you need to print it out" and I explained to her I used one last yr during the OFF SEASON, I showed my deal on my phone to the server and there was no problem applying it to my bill last yr. She walked to the back and my husband and I heard her say loudly "what does she think that she can get a free meal, she told me that she does this all the time" We, not only heard her but everyone in the restaurant heard her as well. We both looked at each other and said how humiliated we both felt. When she came back to the table I said "That is not true, I did not tell you I do this all the time and I can hear you telling everyone in the back that I cannot eat here for free either". She said "Oh" realized we heard her and tried to apologize. I said "I cannot believe this is a problem, that you are using every excuse so that I cannot use the deal." We told her to forget about it that she already humiliated us both! We paid cash for our meal and asked for the owners name and left. NEVER, had my husband and I ever experienced a manager deliberately embarrass us in front of the entire restaurant. Bad management!

.Ate there with my husband tonight. Gigi was our server..She was a delight! We both had Veal Parm. It was delish. Salad dressing pretty good and just as I ordered...no onions! Bread was nice and the right amount of garlic flavor. Nice portion of the veal. I just ate.my leftovers for dinner tonight. I would say ask for Gigi, lol but the next time I go, I don't want her to busy :-)

We have been here before and the food was good and reasonable, but the service was iffy. This time the service was horrible. First it took 20 minutes to get a drink that was ordered, then the main course took forever to be served and then came cold for three out of four of us. THe waitress was usually nowhere to be found. I had to see the reception desk twice for someone to find her, Management apologized and gave us comped deserts and coffee but it was still an uunpleasant experience. Part of the problen seems to be entertainment in the other room which was full. Will not return, plenty of places with comparable food but good service.

Came here for dinner last night . The appearance of the place was nice. We started with an appetizer of Fried Calamari and Crab Stuffed Mushrooms which were delicious. Both the wifey and me had the Chicken Scarpiello and found it a bit disappointing in presentation and taste. The service was very good.

We were hungry after landing in PBI and found the restaurant in a strip mall on the way to our place. The food was fantastic, especially the pork chop. The waitress, Debbie made us feel right at home. Glad we found this place.

Back again!! My Grandparents favorite Italian restaurant. Food was enjoyed by all. A chicken parm, an eggplant parm, a veal Marsala, a chicken Marsala, veal piccata, and fish bronzie. The only leftover we took home was my sisters eggplant parm. The chicken Marsala was split btw. my grandma and myself. It all came with your choice of soup or salad, and a side pasta. I choose the pasta fagoli soup-yummy. For dessert we got a cannoli and the flour less chocolate cake both of those were yummy as well. Service was good. Only negative dessert did take a bit to come out. Not sure why. But all was very good. Will be back on the next trip down here.

Came to Saltimbocca for dinner on my birthday. This place is ok, food was good, but a bit pricey, IMO. I do admit, me and my wife were the youngest couple there. Again for the price the food was decent, nothing great. Not sure if I will come here again.

We had dinner Friday of last week and it was a pleasant surprise. Not only was the food absolutely delicious, we got there early enough for their special...full dinner with salad or soup, entree, dessert and coffee. Also four dollar house wines I was told were great. I had the chicken cacciatore and my husband the veal saltimbocca. Our friends all had different dishes and they all raved about them. As we were leaving there was a full bar with entertainment...too bad we were tired from a long day and had to leave. The icing on the cake was Georgio, our waiter his jokes were superb!

Very good food, but the prices are out of line with the suburban strip mall location. Much better PQR at other area Italian eateries.

We ate her today, Christmas day 2013. They had their regular menu, not a limited one. The place was a bit crowded, and, a bit noisy. The decor and atmosphere was just average, nothing to rave about, but, the food for the most part was great, and, considering it was Christmas day, the service was very good. I had a chicken dish that was perfectly prepared, as was everyone else's food. The selection of wines, especially by the glass, was very good. The crab cakes for the appetizer were only so-so, as were the tiramisu and the key lime pie. The prices were pretty fair, and, we will definitely go bac

We waited 30 minutes at our table and no one came to even greet us. Being as expensive as it was I expected better service. I know things happen but we ended up walking out. I work in the restaurant business and that shouldnt happen. You can obviously see us we were seated in the middle of the restaurant. No drinks or food and everyone around us is eating hmmmm you would think the hostess or all the employees walking by us would puck up on it.

This was such a shame. I was told that this was a great place to eat by my sister she said it was good about a year ago, must have changed chefs or something because our dinner experience was terribly bland and very sloppy presentation, I mean, I can understand it was a little busy and all but the service was rude and unprofessional as well. Been to several places in delray and there are a lot better choices. Save the trip to saltimbocca slop bistro

The restaurant was very very good much to my surprise. My husband had Veal Parmesan and I had the Shrimp Scampi... After reading Jake T.'s review I was scared to try the place. The food was great and so was the service. I would definitely go back again. Plus they have a beautiful back room with a small dance floor which would be great for a party.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
